I have decided that we are done going to doctors for now. I have gone for consults and 2nd opinions and the more information I get, the more confused I become. Bottom line, there is no rush to decide on the treatment of her legs/feet short of doing intense PT (which we are doing) as well as getting her orthotics (which we are getting). One doctor says surgery...now. Another says surgery...eventually. A third says, avoid surgery at all costs. LOL. LOL. See, wouldn't your head be spinning? I have decided....no surgery....for the foreseeable future. It will likely come to that, but not yet. It's too soon. Her feet won't get any worse if we wait. I want to give her time to adjust, bond, learn more English, and have a better understanding of what is going on before I contemplate putting her through that. The different approaches vary because each one has a slightly different opinion of her diagnosis. One feels she has bilateral club feet. Once feels strongly that she does not have club feet rather spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. The third feels she has both. In the big picture, it doesn't really matter to me. I just want to make the correct decisions regarding treatment. As I said, her school is fabulous. She has a 1:1 aide because she really needs help navigating the school environment. She is also getting OT and PT. I am taking her to private PT and we plan to start hippo therapy in the next month or two. THAT should be fun!! Only good things and progress coming this sweet girl's way! She amazes me with her perseverance and drive to learn!!!
All three girls continue to do well together. Tonight is Madi's first "camp out." You know, when you lay all of the blankets that you own across your bedroom floor and sleep on a hard floor when you have three perfectly comfortable beds in your room! Yes, that kind of camp out. Crazy girls. Lots of giggling going on in there, think I should check to see if they built a fire??

I love hearing about your girls' camp-out...sounds like the three of them are having a blast! The idea of waiting for surgery sounds very safe. I wish we weren't going down this road so soon, but we knew it was coming sooner than later. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers! Keep on keeping on. :) ~Angie
