School Days

I had no intentions of starting Madi in school so soon. She will only be home 1 month this weekend. I know that there are people out there who would be horrified that she started so soon. To each his own, I say. She was showing signs of being ready to start a little. Not full days or the entire week. My plan was to take it slow. Follow her lead, and see how it went. My family leave is coming to an end, so I thought we would start her while I was still home so I could be available to help her transition. WOW, she has done fantastic. She is settling in to the routine (a little) but she has a long way to go to catch up. She leaves excited in the morning and comes home happy and eager to show me her work when she comes home. She is a sponge and is learning so many things so quickly. The first week went okay. We have a meeting next week so that we can put some support services in place to help her. I LOVE her teacher and she communicates with me on a regular basis as does the administration. I feel like we are in a good place and everyone has her best interests in mind. She is truly amazing!!! I go back to work on Feb. 6th :-( I have loved being home with them all. I am lucky that my days are only a little bit longer than theirs and that my Mom stays with them until I get home. Usually no more than 60 minutes. We have off for a week for Winter Break mid February, so it will be nice to be home with them again then.

Enjoy the pictures...

So excited to be with the girls and waiting for the bus.

Her teacher meets her at the bus to help her off!!

Emily walks her to her class for the first day!

Loved her first day and was all wound up! VERY excited to show me all her "work.
