Off to a great start

I am back to work and the girls are back to school. We are off to a great and busy start to the school year. Dance, Brownies, Religion and other Fall activities are underway. Emily likes her teacher and the academic curriculum for 2nd gade seems more challenging so that is finally a good thing. The elementary school has added some new additions to the curriculum to make it more varied for the different learning styles and levels in the classrooms, so I am very excited about that.

Alyssa has adjusted to her new school well. All of her related service staff and her classroom teacher send great reports. A few bumps in the road with the transition, but nothing major and unexpected. She went back to the eye doctor and we have another 6 months to do the patching program and he increased the hours that she has to wear it each day, so that is a bit of a bummer! She continues to get Vision Therapy twice a week and she is doing well with that as well. She is really a good girl and looks forward to her homework each night LOL.

I am very busy at work, creating some new and exciting training modules for staff an parents. I was supposed to start some online courses to complete my BCBA, but I put it off for the semester. I will be full steam ahead for next semester. I am not looking forward to all of the course work, but I will enjoy learning and expanding my knowledge and the raise at the end will be nice too LOL

Major problems with uploading pictures lately. Hopefully I will have some time to figure it out before Christmas!!! :-)

Alyssa's Halloween costume is all done (hooray for the gorgeous Snow White costume from her recital). She was very happy to wear it again. Emily wants to be a dalmation puppy so I have been on the hunt for a white sweat suit. Easier said than done. I have a white long sleeve tee shirt and white leggngs if I can't find a sweat suit. Just need to paint on the black spots and make a headband for her floppy ears. I want to make it so it is doesn't look so babyish. She is dead set on being a puppy dog.....my innocent 7 year old. Hope the kids are nice to her LOL
