Lots of things

Things have been crazy and busy as usual. The girls are great and have been enjoying the small bits of snow we have had here and there. Enough to play and have fun in. Not enought to have any snow days. That's okay!! They are both in a great phase (at the same time which is unusal lol)and things have been so nice and peaceful around here. Isn't that lovely ;-) Alyssa is really coming into her own and I LOVE watching her play and learn. She is an absolute sponge. She does have some quirky skills and is enjoying learning the capitals of every US state. My Mom got her a US puzzle for Xmas and each day they learn a new state and capital. She pretty much has them all memorized. It is so funny!! Sad to say she knows more capitals than I do LOL. Emily is just amazing and wishes she could live in the White House because they have a bowling alley and a movie theater. Last Tuesday was a great day and we celebrated President Obama taking office. Emily is working on her first school project. She had to write a book report on Earth and create a project. She decided to make a poster and (with very little help I might add) it is really coming out quite amazing if I do say myself. She worked on it a little bit before I came home from work today and my Mom video taped her giving us some facts about the Earth. If I can figure out how to upload here, I will. She is so stinkin cute!!! She loves to make videos. She is another weird kid who can memorize facts and loves to read the dictionary LOL. She is very concerned about global warming these days as well as her brain melting (thank you Cyndi--I told her what you tell Jackie) and has decided that instead of watching TV, she should read. Tonight she wanted the "real truth." "Will my brain REALLY melt if I watch too much TV?" I was honest and told her...."just a little." hehehehe With a great sigh, she asked if it would be okay if she watched "ONE episode of Suite Life on Deck?" So funny!!!

This week was also 6 years ago that I received the referral for my first Angel. I cannot believe that it was 6 years ago that I came home from work with a raging migraine to the phone ringing with the news that I had a gorgeous 6 month old baby girl waiting for me to bring her home!! What a moment!! That was one of the 4 most perfect days of my life. Guess you can figure out the other 3!!

This weekend will be packed full with Chinese New Year Celebrations. We have parties to go to on both Saturday and Sunday. On Monday I will go to Emily's school to do CNY activities with the kids and in the afternoon, I will go to Ali's class. On Wednesday, we are learning about different customs at Brownies, so we will be practicing to eat with Chop Sticks. Should be fun!!!

Lots of other exciting things happening which will be shared in a later post. I have Ali's Annual reviews coming up and I suspect she will be getting discharged from some or possibly all of her therapies. I will know for sure in March. Interestingly, I am not stressed at all as I think she is doing FABULOUS. We shall see.....

The MOST exciting news is that I just learned that friends of ours are adopting a precious child from China!! We are very excited and pray that this little guy comes home soon. They have waited far too long for their 2nd child and we know that all things happen in His perfect timing. Prayers for a speedy process would be appreciated.

That's all for now. No pics tongiht, but lots to come in the coming days.....

Gung Hay Fat Choy!!!! Happy New Year!!!

It still brings tears to my eye, when I think of the time when our sweet angles came into our lives. The feeling is so overwhelming when I saw both babies for the first time.
I love you all

Hi Michelle. Your girls are beautiful and look so sweet in their dresses. I had CNY at my house. Kara (from Russia) was all dressed up in her new dress and Emily, our China Doll, refused to put her dress on!! I redid our blog and the name changed. It is not: http://meetourgrandchildren.blogspot.com/
Come and visit us when you can.
