Motivator or bribery...call it what you want...

This fancy scooter is sitting in my living room. Alyssa is 100% pee-pee trained. She even wakes up in the middle of the night to go. No accidents at all. We still go out with a pull up, just in case. But, that is more for my benefit as I hate to test out all of the disgusting public rest rooms in every store we visit. The other reason is that once I get rid of the pull ups, she is the type of kid where there will be no turning back. While that would typically be a great thing, I am hesitant to toss out the last of the pull ups with our upcoming trip to disney.

Why, you ask is this fancy little pink beauty sitting in my living room (still in the box I might add)? Well, because Alyssa REALLY REALLY REALLY wants a scooter "like Sissy." She is also opposed to "letting go" of #2 on the potty. She knows she has to go, cries, holds it in and will demand a "wipe or a diaper" so she can go. Poor little pumpkin, this is so tough for her. She has gone up to 3 days without having a BM, until I finally resort to giving her a diaper so she doesn't explode. She has been promised this fancy scooter once she does her business in the potty. I KNOW her. Once she goes ONE TIME. She will be trained. DONE. FINISHED. But the time between now and then is just so hard. She wants to do it. She knows what she needs to do...she just can't let go. My poor sweet girl. It will happen soon. I know it will. I really am not the type of parent who puts a lot of stress on potty training, giving up bottles, etc. But she really is ready and she is the one who has initiated it. And, she is 3 now, so I have to admit there is a smidgen of peer pressure looming. But not much LOL.
(Sorry if this was too much information. But as is stated in my blog description this is about my journey as a Mom. What journey through motherhood would be complete without some poop talk lol.)
Have a super night.

My daughter had the same problem with her little Russian Beauty. It got to the point she and her husband decided they would not put a pull up on Kara no matter what. It took a few days where Kara was begging for a pull up. My heart was breaking. They were right - she went once and has gone in the potty ever since.
